This November marks the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1.
The centenary will be acknowledged nationally on Armistice Day, Sunday 11th November 2018.
To commemorate the event, Artform are presenting the ‘musical entertainment’ Oh What A Lovely War, originally devised and presented by Joan Littlewood’s Theatre Workshop, in association with the Broadway Theatre, at the Broadway Studio from November 7th-11th.
A smash hit at Stratford East, then the West End and then Broadway, it was revived at Stratford East in 2014.
Presented in the form of seaside entertainment and using songs of the period, this hard-hitting satire exposes both the political realities and the horrors of the trenches. Its message remains very relevant, especially with the news stories of today.
