description:

Get your coconuts ready - Monty Python's Spamalot rides into The Charter Theatre in May 2018 (May 9th - 12th) and this amazing, witty, silly musical is looking for a cast.

Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail. Inspired by the classic comedy film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the musical also diverts a bit from more traditional versions of the legend. Instead, Spamalot features shenanigans including a line of beautiful dancing girls, flatulent Frenchmen, and killer rabbits. Outside, there is plague with a 50% chance of pestilence and famine. Throughout the show, Arthur, traveling with his servant Patsy, recruits several knights to accompany him on his quest, including Sir Bedevere, Sir Robin, Sir Lancelot, and Sir Galahad. Besides the rabbits and farting Frenchman, they meet such characters as the Lady of the Lake, Prince Herbert, Tim the Enchanter, Not Dead Fred, the Black Knight, and the Knights who say Ni.

Songs from the show include:
Finland/Fisch Slapping Dance
The Song That Goes This
Knights of the Round Table
You Won’t Succeed on Broadway
His Name Is Lancelot
You Won’t Succeed on Broadway

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

We want to have fun from the outset, so to keep things simple (like our production team) turn up to a welcome event on 25th September at The Harris Primary School on Wychnor in Fulwood at 7.30pm where you will be given information on the quest to gain a role in the show. There may even be an opportunity to do some mud gathering.

If you see yourself in this acclaimed show then come on down and display your talents. As this is a Preston Musical Comedy Society Show it will no doubt be the most popular ever with everyone who is anyone in musical theatre so make sure you are the biggest diva, attend the event then register to audition.

On Thursday 28th September we will meet up again at the school, if we haven't all perished from over leaching and boil lancing at 7.30pm to learn some simple dance moves for the audition. Nothing to be scared of.....mostly.

The auditions - with a dance refresh will take place on the afternoon of Sunday 1st October. Audition material will be available plus videos and rehearsal tracks for singing and dancing and the obligatory making merry.

We will try our best to get the Production Team to make sense but when you know it is Mark Howard directing, Alex Phillips-Yates in charge of musical direction and Zak Phillips-Yates choreographing - you realise it's an uphill struggle.

If you are looking to audition for a principal role but would also consider being in the ensemble you will have to complete the ensemble movement audition

25th September - Welcome Event to find out all the details at Harris Primary School on Wychnor in Fulwood, PR2 7EE
